Each What They Need
Part of our becoming Unbinded means the constant evolution of how we now approach various areas of our life. One way this shows up everyday is how we parent, in particular, abandoning the one-size-fits-all approach and ensuring that each one of our children is given what they specifically need.
Insert our third and middle child, Olivia, and what she needs when it comes to schooling. While our oldest son pursued a traditional public school track, our oldest daughter hacked the system through accelerated coursework and co-enrollment in community college to graduate at age 16, and our youngest two have been homeschooled for the past couple years now, Olivia is our social butterfly. Not only does she excel at school, she thrives on the social aspect of it! For her, this has also meant cheerleading being a significant part of her identity and public school journey.
She is a senior and Co-Captain of her high school Varsity Cheer Team. And while she plans to pursue collegiate cheer next year, we are thrilled to be able to soak up this last year of high school Friday night lights! Last night, and every Friday night this fall, we’ll religiously be seated front and center of the varsity cheerleaders watching her lead her team cheer on their team. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!
