What Means the Most
To us, being “unbinded” means doing more of what you love and less of what you don’t. You’ve heard us say time and time again that, before moving to North Carolina, we got crystal clear on our values and the life we wanted to live. That clarity led us to wanting to spend as much time as we could doing the things we enjoy the most.
Last night was a vivid example of that. On a random Tuesday night, just because we were home and the weather was nice and cool, we lit the fire pit. Olivia had a friend over, the little kids played on their bikes and scooters in the driveway, and we all roasted hot dogs. We visited and laughed and told stories. It was a typical fire pit kind of night on a not so typical night to do it.
A few years ago, our weeknights were consumed with things we didn’t love to do. We were constantly in and out, eating separately and on the go, getting home late, and hardly seeing one another at times.
When we started to envision the life we wanted to live, and we listed out the things we love doing, none of those things that had been consuming so much of our time even made the list! It was apparent to us that we were ready to make a change.
Now, we make it a point to prioritize the things that bring us together, the things that bring us the most joy. We prioritize being home on a Tuesday night to have impromptu family time around a fire.
We are intentionally building this Unbinded Life to do more of the things that mean the most!
