TAKE VACATIONS!! You can always earn more money, but you can never earn back the time.

For two years we waited until finally we had to ask ourselves, wait for what? What exactly were we waiting for?

We couldn’t come up with a good answer.

We decided to choose a place we wanted to be and to live a life we wanted to live.

We are so glad we gave ourselves permission to pursue the freedom our hearts desired.

It was in that pause that we could finally breathe and ask ourselves, how do we really want to spend our time?

We had gotten so caught up in doing so many things when what we really wanted was to just undo the mess we had created.

As we continued to work hard and reach our goals, we were praying like never before. For the first time in years, we not only prayed hard, but we prayed with each other.

I didn’t know how. I didn’t know when. But I knew I wanted to hike the snow-covered Parkway.

Here we are just a few months later.

Then we talked about what we could change. What we could simplify. How we could slow down.

We learned we had to communicate about our finances, we had to look at the ugly mess we were in, and we had to be on the same page and work together.

This is the place where we were led.

This is the house we will call home.

We would say all of the things we want, all of the things we want to do, all of the things we want to be.

I am reminded that when we take that first leap, we don’t need to know where we will land. We don’t have to see the other side, we just need faith that there is another side.

Our absolute favorite part of this entire story is that we gave ourselves permission to dream.

Our lives have taken quite a drastic turn since then, but we realize it has been an ongoing small, gentle tug in this direction.

Turns out, it was more than we need. Turns out, it wasn’t one of the things we truly desire in life.

Unbinded Life has come to us as a way to express what we are thinking, what we are feeling and what we are now doing…freeing ourselves from the things that keep us held down.

And we talked about how we are now different, how we now make different decisions, and how we are teaching our kids to make different, better decisions, too.

For us, it’s now almost like a game…we look around asking ourselves what can we eliminate? What expense can we lower? Are there more things we can do without?
