Resting easy that he was him and I was me and this is just how we roll.

He dreamed of living a life where he could cultivate his interests and serve his community.

But once we hit the rapids, we had the time of our lives!

But of all of the times we have painted the interior of other houses, this time is vastly different.

I couldn’t help but see that sweet little toddler who would wiggle around on my lap while I sang her favorite lullaby.

We’ve shared stories while drinking coffee on the front porch and we’ve tromped through a grassy field to get the perfect mountain shot.

I told him I don’t really give advice but I can tell him this: I believe every person, deep down, knows exactly what they want.

Now I spend every Friday and most afternoons doing the one thing that is most important in life to me—being the father and husband I always dreamed of.

It’s easy to say, we’ve never seen anything else like this.

And then he told us he was going to “lock in this memory” so that he would never forget.

It was a perfect reminder that we’re “home” now!

Knowing exactly what we wanted led us straight to the place we now call home.

We have been writing together and building our coaching practice together and this past weekend we added to that list.

I’ve been counting down to today for one reason and one reason only—to say yes.

When we put a stake in the ground to redesign our lives and said we would always put family first, I don’t know that we could have envisioned all that would entail.

If our younger selves could see us today, I think they would be so proud of us.

...the closeness as a family and freedom we gained here far outweighs the stresses, burdens, and way of life we left behind.

I’ve probably been called Clark Griswold more than anything in my entire life (and trust me, I’ve been called a lot of things!).

We were speaking life into our values and were ready to live them out.

We have left behind the pressure to throw the perfect party and have freed ourselves from coordinating the most special day.
